Introducing, the Tim Talks Politics Podcast!

Tim Talks Politics podcast

I’ve gone and done it now. I started a podcast. This idea has been percolating in the back of my mind for a couple years now, and I’ve finally gotten something published. It’s not as optimal as I want it to be, the audio still needs work, but when has any human endeavor started perfectly?

Why the Tim Talks Politics podcast now?

I love podcasts, and recognized a while ago that this medium would be a great addition to the TTP platform. I lacked time and technical know how, so I had to content myself with developing ideas for episodes and listening to what others were doing in the political podcast space. Out of that, though, I learned quite a bit about what I do and do not want to produce in terms of content, and have hopefully developed a channel that’s a nice compliment to the other content offered here like articles and the Weekly Brief.

The way I see it, the articles and essays on this site are shorter thought pieces that outline my research and developing ideas on all things American politics, citizenship and foreign policy. The Weekly Brief is my news curation service/product to deepen and enrich your own thinking and conversing on politics. I see the Tim Talks Politics podcast as being the bridge between those two channels, it’s a deeper dive into the ideas I write about and seeks to connect those ideas to the many issues addressed in the Weekly Brief. The podcast is literally and figuratively the “talk” in Tim Talks Politics. It’s designed to be a forum in which to model the kind of political thinking and discussion that we seem to have such a hard time finding these days.

Without further ado…

However, that’s enough of a written introduction, please check out the inaugural episode to hear a little more about the aims of this new effort.

I would also love it if you’d be willing to share the podcast with your friends and networks and rate the podcast wherever you listen to it. It’ll help get the word out about the show in these crucial early days.

And of course, if you’d like to help support my ongoing work in promoting a richer public discourse and vibrant citizenship, please consider supporting Tim Talks Politics.
